Germany on the Danube

The Danube River originates in the beautiful forest mountain range called the Black Forest. It sits in the region of Bavaria in southern Germany. And yes! Bavaria, the German state known most for it’s Oktoberfest! Regensburg and Passau are 2 truly charming river cruise ports you may visit in your Germany on the Danube River cruise. The Danube in Germany originates in the historical town of Donaueschingen, where the rivers Brigach and Breg come together.  You can even see the source of the Danube standing at the palace park near the Princely Furstenberg Palace. The magnificent river then flows 340 miles southeast to Germany’s border with Austria. 1760 miles in length, The Danube finally empties into the Black Sea in both Romania and Ukraine.
